A fresh voice...

Charles McCloud will bring fresh ideas and a new approach to the HISD School Board. He will promote an educational environment that gives every student the best opportunity to succeed— an environment where curiosity, self-confidence, self-control and moral thinking are integral.Charles will demand that funds are placed where the need is the greatest. He will use his professional training to bring novel approaches and new technology to the district to ensure it makes the best use of its limited resources. Yet, at the same time Charles will protect our history and traditions.

...with deep roots.

While Charles McCloud may have new ideas, he has deep roots in the community. He grew up in 5th Ward, played at Hester House, attended Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and was president of the student body at Phillis Wheatley. After graduating with honors, Charles attended college at Stanford University, where he was captain of his football team and won two Rose Bowl championships. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering and went on to earn a Master of Business Administration from Stanford’s prestigious school of business. Charles returned to Houston to work in the energy industry but continued to be active at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church and Northwest Community Baptist Church. Charles also remained dedicated to the community by leading the corporate effort to refurbish Hester House’s gym and serving as the board chairman of the Acres Home Youth Association.

Now Charles McCloud stands ready to serve our community as a HISD Trustee.
